Became A Doctor: A Profession That Demands A Lot From You!

I am a doctor and I save lives for a living. And, this doesn’t come easy. Unlike any other profession, our study of mbbs is a bit time-consuming and difficult. After all, we are preparing ourselves to solve the mystery of a human body. Even after investing half of our life in medical study, studying different medicine courses, we can’t call us complete doctors until and unless we handle the real-life cases. Without a doubt, our life is tough and is nothing as glitzy as films make it out to be. From learning a whole new medical vocabulary to studying a range of medical conditions, the journey of becoming a doctor is a bumpy ride.

However, the best part of studying medicine is when you don that white coat for life; the feeling is just unexplained. But, there is a lot more than this coat in an actual doctor story.

If you think becoming a doctor would make you a gold digger then you are mistaken

Studying medicine doesn’t mean you will be super rich. You will be well-off and at a better place than many people but it won’t be a million-dollar job. Instead, you are likely to graduate your medical school with quite a lot of debt. If all you want is wealth then the medical study is not for you.

It’s not an easy job, you will have to commit all your time towards your profession Studying medicine

Deciding to become a doctor means you will have to give up your life; all your me-time for your profession. There will be no weekends, no evenings, just emergency, patients, shifts, and medicine. This is what a true doctor story looks like!

Once you choose a specialty, it will be for life as there’s no changing the field

Studying medicine isn’t like most careers. You can’t switch from one role to another to enhance your experience. In a medical study, it is the years of practice in a specific specialty that defines the potential of a doctor. So once you have decided your particular medical course, it will be for life.

You will mess up things often but it’ll be fine

The medical study entails a lot of checks and balances in place. However, there will be many times when things would go wrong. Often it is something pretty minor, which is going to be okay. All in all, you will eventually live to learn from your mistakes and will never ever make it again.

You won’t be able to save all your patients

No matter how trained you are and how hard you tried, you can’t save all lives. Delivering a bad news is never easy. A patient’s death will leave you really sick. Certainly, it takes a lot to become a doctor!
